Day-1: Creating your alloys
In this 2-day workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of working with gold. Each student will start with an amount of pure gold that they can afford to work with, and then learn to alloy different karats and colors of gold. Jim Dailing, an expert in his field with over 30 years of experience designing and crafting unique wedding and engagement rings, will guide you through the process of creating your own gold alloys.
Day-2: Creating your rings
Once the alloys have been created, you’ll move on to fabrication of rings using fusing and gold soldering techniques. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a series of simple stacking rings made from your own newly created gold alloys.
This workshop is the perfect opportunity to take your skills to the next level and remove any hesitation about working with this beautiful and precious metal. You’ll learn from one of the best in the business, and have the chance to connect with other jewelry makers and expand your professional network.
