Occasionally when searching for new and fresh designs when creating unique engagement and wedding rings the best place to start is to look back at designs that I have created in the past. This might involve looking at old sketches, partially finished pieces that never made it to completion and in today’s search I spent time with my old swimming pool ring that I created back in college at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. This ring was created simply for fun in sterling silver for the swimming pool and diving board and torch fired enamel for the water.

What caught my attention today however was the sculpted contours and forms of the ring reminding me that a wedding or engagement ring can be a work of art and a small piece of sculpture that the wearer can enjoy on different levels for many many years.
